Eat + Drink

The best places to eat and drink in Merimbula.

Valentina

With stunning views over Merimbula Lake and a menu to match, Valentina deserves the coveted Good Food Guide hat it was awarded in 2023. With a coastal Australia meets Mediterranean vibe, the incredible dishes made from local produce and a carefully curated wine list will make repeat visits to Vals a must.

We recommend: whipped cod’s roe, anchovy toasts, fish of the day, every cocktail

Bar Superette

Bar Superette is one of the latest additions to Merimbula’s exceptional food and wine scene and sets the bar very high. An intimate space offers cosy dining and a takeout store, where delicious plates can be enjoyed alongside some of the best wines we have tasted. Don’t leave Merimbula without a visit!

We recommend: croquettes, steak frites, any wine they suggest.

Bar Monti

Monti opened in 2022 and has quickly become one of Merimbula’s best places to dine. Serving superb Italian with a fabulous drink list, one of our favourite spots will quickly become yours too.

We recommend: calamari fritti, pumpkin rotolo, tiramisù

Banskia

Set in the timeless ambience of The Old Pambula Bank, a heritage listed building and local landmark, Banskia offers a wonderful seasonal three course set-menus of local produce with matching wines. Whatever the season, Banskia will serve you up a sensation.

We recommend: match the wines with the menu, it won’t disappoint!

Dulcies Cottage

Dulcie’s is a reimagined 1925 cottage in Merimbula serving up beers, wine, cocktails, fries, and burgers made from produce from our region. A Merimbula icon since 2015 and one of our favourite spots for a sundowner.

We recommend: gin martini (request North of Eden gin), local beers, fish burger

Merimbula Wharf Restaurant

Situated on the iconic Merimbula Wharf with sweeping ocean and hinterland views, the Wharf Bar and Restaurant is the perfect spot for a long lunch. If you’re lucky, you may even spot some dolphins or seals passing by as you sip on your glass of rose.

We recommend: Broadwater oysters, macadamia crusted barramundi, crème brulee

Sunny’s Kiosk

A little neighbourhood kiosk with uninterrupted views of Merimbula top lake, Sunnys is a café by day, and also serves great wine and snacks most summer weekends evenings. It is the perfect place for lunching, sipping wine, then watching the sunset over the lake. They also have kayak and boat hire.

We recommend: noix de jambon, tuna tartare, all the wines

Aristotelis Ke Anthoula

Make sure you try a glass of a delicious natural wine from Pambula produced wine-makers Aristotelis Ke Anthoula at one of our favourite dining spots. But a warning, once you try it you’ll want to drink it everywhere you go! Our pick has to be their wonderful chilled ‘Little Red’.
